Dyndns issue: peer didn’t know the key we used

Hello everyone,

I am running a newly installed yunohost instance on top of Debian 12 on a hostinger VPS and I selected a yunohost preconfigured domain.

Running diagnostics shows that there are DNS misconfigurations, and taking a look at the dns options for the domain in the web admin returns an error. I am unable to install a let’s encrypt certificate, or run certain commands.

The diagnosis suggested running ‘yunohost dyndns update —force’, and it returns the error linked below.

The common issue between all of these appears to be “the peer didn’t know key we used”

I’m seeing the same ‘peer didn’t know the key we used’ error on a preconfigured YunoHost domain, which also prevents the DNS diagnosis and Let’s Encrypt setup from completing. I’m looking forward to a fix or explanation for how the Dyndns key gets synchronized.

I have the same problem and we are not alone :slight_smile:

They two other topic for the same issue and no solution found at this time.

It seems it might be a quite general issue.

this is marked as success but error is logged in red. I don’t then if it is a false positive error.

mine is different, it is about ‘the signature’ not about ‘the key’.

The peer didn’t like the signature we sent error was still showing in the Aug 16 log, so I can’t confirm the fix from this thread alone.

“The peer didn’t like the signature” seems to be another error.

Can you check that your server’s time is correct? I saw that a greather-than-5-min time difference between servers can lead to that error.

Feel free to open a dedicated thread if needed.
