Stuck on setting up Obsidian-livesync for CouchDB.. help needed!

What type of hardware are you using: Old laptop or computer
What YunoHost version are you running: latest
What app is this about: CouchDB

Describe your issue

I’ve been trying to set up Obsidian-livesync in CouchDB, however it never goes as planned.

Following the official livesync documentation installation guide, I just don’t know what is where because Yunohost has different places for config files.

So I try opening the couchDB.mydomain.com that i installed via yunohost, but it says {"error":"unauthorized","reason":"Name or password is incorrect."}.

At one point I gave up, but after seeing this post here (Logseq, un logiciel de "Personal Knowledge Management" non linéaire - #14 by Limezy), I decided to ask for help. Obviously, I did not want to revive that old post, so I’ll ask here. @Limezy , your input could be valuable on this.

I’m in desperate need of a guide to install Obsidian-livesync.

Hi @Funnel0826 !

First of all, just to let you know, I didn’t use CouchDB + Obsidian-livesync plugin to sync my notes since quite long now. I’m using Syncthing + the iOS Synctrain app. My biggest complain about Obsidian-livesync was how much ressources it used on the devices.

However, if you still want to go that route : the first step is to have CouchDB installed and running on your Yunohost instance. Do not follow the official installation guide.

If I understand well, as a first step, you have installed the CouchDB app through the standard Yunohost interface and can’t log in ?

Hello Limezy,

Correct, I installed CouchDB through the Yunohost app store. When I go to the couchdb site it says I’m unauthorized, but I’m not sure where to log in.
