Hi @rockyIII

It seems that you couldn’t reach mirror.ip-projects.de during this upgrade, either it was a DNS problem or it was down at the time. Can you try again ? If you have access via SSH, what does ping mirror.ip-projects.de say ?

(It’s the case for several domains so most likely a DNS resolution issue)

thanks for your help

root@admin-tools:~# ping mirror.ip-projects.de
ping: mirror.ip-projects.de: Temporary failure in name resolution

so does tihs mean i just have to wait… and try later?
or
could i try anything else?

No this means DNS resolution seems entirely broken on your server

Isn’t the diagnosis screen of Yunohost reporting issues ?

What can i Try?

Just answer the damn question …

yes this I find in the diagnosis screen:

` Der Server hat kein funktionierendes IPv4.`

=
the server does not have a working IPv4.

also I see this:

Service dnsmasq is failed :(

* You can try to [restart the service](https://admin-tools.domain.tld/yunohost/admin/#/services/dnsmasq), and if it doesn't work, have a look at [the service logs in the webadmin](https://admin-tools.domain.tld/yunohost/admin/#/services/dnsmasq) (from the command line, you can do this with `yunohost service restart dnsmasq` and `yunohost service log dnsmasq` ).

Also I see this:

accueil Yunohost

Something wrong happened while trying to paste data on paste.yunohost.org : HTTPSConnectionPool(host='paste.yunohost.org', port=443): Max retries exceeded with url: /documents (Caused by NewConnectionError(': Failed to establish a new connection: [Errno -3] Temporary failure in name resolution',))

Alright so let’s try to

systemctl stop systemd-resolve

and

systemctl start dnsmasq
root@admin-tools:~# systemctl stop systemd-resolve
Failed to stop systemd-resolve.service: Unit systemd-resolve.service not loaded.
root@admin-tools:~# systemctl start dnsmasq
Job for dnsmasq.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status dnsmasq.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.

Zblerg … bon bah allons-y plus franco :

kill -9 447

puis

systemctl start dnsmasq
root@admin-tools:~# kill -9 447
-bash: kill: (447) - No such process
root@admin-tools:~# systemctl start dnsmasq
Job for dnsmasq.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status dnsmasq.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.
root@admin-tools:~#

Hmpf well let’s 'ps -ef | grep systemd-resolve' then …

root@admin-tools:~# ps -ef | grep systemd-resolve
systemd+ 465 1 0 22:32 ? 00:00:00 /lib/systemd/systemd-resolved
root 30899 4178 0 23:16 pts/0 00:00:00 grep systemd-resolve
root@admin-tools:~# systemctl start dnsmasq
Job for dnsmasq.service failed because the control process exited with error code.
See "systemctl status dnsmasq.service" and "journalctl -xe" for details.
root@admin-tools:~

Yes alright, should be “kill -9 465” then … or maybe “systemctl stop systemd-resolved” (was missing a d earlier …)

then

systemctl start dnsmasq

YEsssss… With your help dnsmasq started and the buster update worked… PostgreSQL upgrade 9.6 to 11 as well

THANKS SO MUCH

the only thing now is that synapse does not start anymore …
