hi, Tanks a lot for your portage of Plex server in YunoHost.
(Sorry for my english, i’m french to but if other one have same problem, i try to explain my probleme in English ^^).

before starting, my plex media server work perfecly ! No problem with my local machine. For now i’am only try SD content but the streaming work verry well with a “little” internet connexion and 4g connexion ! that verry good

But I’have a strange issue with plex app access…

That is my installation :

• Dédicated server (KS2 of kimsufi)
• Debian 8.1 stable (Jessie) (stable) (64bits)
• ynohost installed in my [domain1]
• plexmediaserver_ynh installed in my [domain2] succefuly with yunohost Install software

Now my strange issue :
I can access to my plex server with url http://[domain2] without login (that is my big problem ^^)
i can access to my plex server with url http://[domain2]:32400/web/index.html and login is required ! (that is good )

But when i try to access with http://[domain2]:32400/ i’have an “401 Unauthorized” error message…

For information : In yunohost admin panel

• the services information say me :
  plexmediaserver
  start in starting :enabled
  Statut : inactive
  When i try to start the service, i have a popin say me the status is succeffuly started but after that, the statut stay “inactive”…

• In firewall information, i have the port 32400 open in ipv4 ipv6 upnp in TCP and UDP. UPNP is unactived.

For information : In plexserver configuration

• Configuration is fully accessible with the url http://[domain2] like i say… It’s not really security ^^.
• In settings > server > Remote access have the litlle green coche
• Remote access have this configuration : i’have unactivate it. (he say me : Not available outside your network and give me the possibility of enable it.
• In advanced settings i manually specify port 32400 and server mapping is Private Unknown IP <-- Public [myipserver] : 32400 <-- Internet.

Well, i tink i give all the informations… It’s strange issue because plex server work verry well but i’m not realy at ease in this configuration :s.

I’m sure it’s a problem of configuration but i’can find solution for that…

Only idea i’have is to configure my DNS to make rediction of http://[domain2] to http://[domain2]:32400/web/index.html. But i’m not sure it’s good idea :s.

" update-rc.d" Done, however it doesn’t work …
" 32400" and the others regles, the same issue.

Your script works until I reboot my server. How can I do?

The problem was easy to find : Debian 8 moved to systemd (init system) the app was configured to work with Debian 7

I have corrected the installation scripts but before updating the github project, I’d like some people to use the "testing"version of the app

I have tried to reproduce this authentification issue, I could not even if I have setup plex on two different local domains.

I’d like to point out that authentification process is not handled by yunohost at all, its done by Plex servers.

Has anyone had success with this on yunohost 2.4? I made a new nohost.me domain from the webpanel, installed pms to it, but I get a server not found on the domain, and there’s no sign of plex on my server - the command “sudo service plexmediaserver start” tells me no such file or directory.

I’m in over my head on several levels here, including not knowing anything about configuring multiple domains. If this app is working for anyone else, any help would be appreciated!

edit: I see now that plex is listed as not working. I forgot to check the working apps list. oops.

@novakin Please note that it is not a free and open source app. Thus it won’t be integrated as an official app.
But thank you for the work!
