Hello,
I currently have an LDAP directory (Active Directory) used for user & group management. Is it possible to integrate or use an external directory vs. the inbox directory yunohost includes?

Hello,
no, yunohost is not designed for that, it has his own ldap server with its own structure that apps are configured to use. Maybe you can hack some kind of synchronisation between your AD and yunohost LDAP but I wouldn’t advise to do this.

LDAP integration/interface could be a very valuable feature, to extend the scope of YNH.
