What type of hardware are you using: VPS bought online
What YunoHost version are you running: 12.0.9.1
How are you able to access your server: The webadmin
SSH
Are you in a special context or did you perform specific tweaking on your YunoHost instance ?: I added a new subdomain
Describe your issue
My Yunohost install used a subdomain (y.domain.tld, intentionally). I wanted to add another new subdomain “d.domain.tld”.
Normally I choose “I want to add a domain I own” but this time I choose “I want to add a subdomain of an already added domain”. Dont know why but alas, seemed logical at the time. After adding it, my admin-portal on the subdomain and my-webapp on the maindomain couldnt be reached anymore.
After rebooting my VPS and SSH a diagnosis which said everything OK my yunohost and webapp were online again, but with one difference:
Yunohost admin portal now redirects y.domain.tld to domain.tld/yunohost
It doesnt bother me much but also want to be sure and need some advice:
- Is there a difference between “I want to add a domain I own” and “I want to add a subdomain of an already added domain” if the first option is a subdomain of a previously added main domain?
- Is it better to leave this way or is it better to ‘roll back’ the old situation?
