Hi folks, hoping someone can help with this!
What I expect to happen:
- My Writefreely users and posts can be discovered from any compatible fediverse instance.
What actually happens:
- My Writefreely users and posts can only be discovered from mastodon.me.uk
I’ve noticed that my Writefreely instance is not federating properly:
From my home Mastodon instance (mastodon.me.uk) I can discover Writefreely users and posts from my YUNOhost Writefreely instance, but when I search from other instances like mstdn.social, mastodon.social and hostux.social I cannot. I have also tried from my Pixelfed home instance (pixelfed.social) and cannot.
When I first installed Writefreely and set it up a few months ago I tested its federation from mastodon.me.uk (and pixelfed.social IIRC). I saw that it was federating fine and thought that it was ready for me to use. Then a couple of days ago I published a post and could not discover it, even from mastodon.me.uk. I then reinstalled Writefreely via the webadmin and set up a test user and created some test posts. I have been able to follow this test user (@testing@write.micromail.me) and see the test posts but only from mastodon.me.uk.
What might have happened?
How might I diagnose it?
I hope I’ve explained the problem intelligibly (my brain is limping a bit from having a baby recently…).
