Hardware: Kimsufi KS7 YunoHost version: 11.2.7 I have access to my server : Through SSH Are you in a special context or did you perform some particular tweaking on your YunoHost instance ? : no
Description of my issue
Vaultwarden can no longer send email.
This is a similar to another forum thread closed without resolution:
Error message from postfix (I replaced my server by “hostname.tld” and intended rcp for test purpse by “anotheruser”. Bottom line is error here indicates Postfix does not consider vaultwarden to own the email address vaultwarden@domain.tld.
DATE hostname postfix/submission/smtpd[26237]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from localhost[127.0.0.1]: 553 5.7.1 <vaultwarden@hostname.tld>: Sender address rejected: not owned by user vaultwarden; from=<vaultwarden@hostname.tld> to=<anotheruser@hostname.tld> proto=ESMTP helo=<hostname.tld>
How do we assign the email address to the user vaultwarden?
As you said, I haven’t actually solved the problem.
I used a workaround: I commented the line “reject_sender_login_mismatch” under “smtpd_sender_restrictions” in postfix’ “main.cf”.
The issue with this workaround is that it allows any logged user to send emails using any sender address on your server. This is not a huge deal for me, but could be a minor security issue for some.
It would be nice if a real solution was found!
