Describe your issue
I followed the steps in the previous post to mostly resolve this issue. However, my yunohost install now fails on a later step of installation: “Select and install software”
I’m posting to update / add information that is missing or broken links in the previous post of a similar name. This is because I had the same / similar issue and needed to do extra legwork to resolve it. I hope posting this can help others here.
Share relevant logs or error messages
There aren’t any logs because Yunohost isn’t installed yet.
Hi all,
This post - The ext4 file system creation in partition #1 of /dev/nvme0n1 failed - was really helpful to me today, as I had the same / similar issue. Mine is on a Lenovo ThinkStation P330 TINY.
However, some of the links at that post are broken, so I am sharing extra, updated key tips below:
- Since Debian 13 trixie has come out, the Debian 12 packages are now here: Debian -- Debian “bookworm” Installation Information
- The Debian 12 bookworm amd64 iso is now here (for netinstall/smaller image): https://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/archive/12.12.0/amd64/iso-cd/debian-12.12.0-amd64-netinst.iso
- Since the Yunohost documentation update, the SSH connection instructions are now here: 🛠️ SSH and command line | Yunohost
- Since the Yunohost documentation update, the instructions on installing Yunohost after installing Debian 12 are here: On top of Debian | Yunohost
- When flashing Debian or Yunohost: If you get security warnings on a mac, BalenaEtcher needs to be re-downloaded from here: https://etcher.balena.io/ - the certificate on the latest version will resolve the errors that prevent Etcher opening.
- When flashing Debian or Yunohost: To avoid further error that make the flash , you need to use BalenaEtcher while logged in to an admin account on your computer. The way the software acts re admin privileges in the latest version, you can’t enter a full admin credential to override (on a Mac) and the flash fails. When logged in to an admin account before opening Etcher, it works fine.
