Unable to upgrade to Debian Buster and Yunohost 4x

Nextcloud worked!

Thanks, yes it seems I’m approaching the limit of my ram. I only have a Core2duo with 4 GB and using 3.2GB.

Firefox is running, using 250MB maybe if I kill that it will be enough. Maybe time to upgrade the ram.

Are you saying you’re running a full desktop enviromnent with Firefox on your server …

Yes:( The command line scares me…ha ha.

I really only wanted a UI to navigate the folder structure and copy backups to an external drive. I suppose I could have chosen something other than Gnome, maybe XFCE or something ultra lightweight. Any suggestions?

My suggestion is to not install any desktop environment at all, considering that consumes a shitload of RAM. Not even mentioning running Firefox …

If you want to navigate folders, just install Nextcloud and try to configure it to mount the proper folders you want to browse (granted : i’m not 100% sure how to do this, but would be surprised if it’s not possible at all)

Copying backups to external drive should also be possible from Nextcloud (or the download button in the webadmin, new in 4.1, if you want to download backup from/to another machine)

Unfortunately I’ve been unable to access the Backup Utility for some time, even after the migration. I can backup from the command line but not the webpanel, Is there any way to troubleshoot it?

I did find this issue Backup (+webadmin) not accessible anymore - #3 by isidoreisou I may try to remove every backup but the most recent ones to see if that corrects any issues with bad archives.

Hmpf okay … or you can also open the javascript console (F12) and report any obvious error that may be related

OMG, is this what you’re referring to?

Uuuuuuh no I was meaning the JS console … using F12, then in in the ‘Javascript’ tab, you should see some messages in red/yellow ?

(All of this after trying to reach the backup page…)

Before I do that, I ran the command

yunohost backup list --debug

and it returned no errors that I could see

admin@1146:~$ sudo yunohost backup list --debug

Sorry to be naive, but the steps to get to the JS console are:

open webadmin
select backups
(when it hangs then select)
F12
javascript tab
red or yellow warnings?

Is this it?

Yes, is this right after you tried to access the backup archives …?

yes
