I’m wondering what stops working if dnsmasq is repurposed as it says in the mini-docs on the application install page. Does anything break? Also, what is its general condition these days - working well?

The bit of configuration that’s added merely says to dnsmasq to stop listening to requests coming from the main network interface (since that would be AdGuard’s job). Local DNS resolution is still handled by dnsmasq with no issue.
Basically nothing will be broken.
I am an AdGuard user on YunoHost and very satisfied by it.
