Syncthing last update deleted my devices

What app is this about, and its version: Syncthing
What YunoHost version are you running: YunoHost 12.1.27 (stable)
What type of hardware are you using: Raspberry Pi 3, 4+

Describe your issue

Hi,

I applied the last Syncthing update this morning and it deleted my devices and my syncthing folder (although the folder still exists in my Yunohost install).

So I reverted to the preupgrade backup.

Same here

Same here.
Backup did the job :folded_hands:t3:

My bad, it’s an oversight.
Could you please try to upgrade to testing branch?

sudo yunohost app upgrade syncthing -u https://github.com/YunoHost-Apps/syncthing_ynh/tree/testing

Not good! :sad_but_relieved_face:
I tried the upgrade from testing but I lose all the configurations again :frowning:

Could you share your upgrade logs please?

Same here, and the device identifier has been changed so the connection with the other syncthing is broken

Restoring backup untill solved. Thank you for your work anyway.

Sorry guys, I’ve tested with my latest changes and it seems to work. Could you please test the testing branch?

I did
sudo yunohost app upgrade syncthing -u https://github.com/YunoHost-Apps/syncthing_ynh/tree/testing

Is this the correct command for the testing branch?

There is still issues :

  • The SSO doesn’t work 2025-10-08 15:06:59: Failed to bind with LDAP server (error="LDAP Result Code 49 \"Invalid Credentials\": " log.pkg=api)
  • now the lists of shares dir is OK
  • the device identifier is still changed, therefore all the link to others devices are broken

Strange, LDAP works without issue for me. Could you share configs in settings > advanced > ldap?

Did you restore latest working version first?

Yes I’ve restored the working backup before.

You mean in Synchting? There it is

I have a very vanilla configuration

Hmmm it’s normal, it should work normally…

Hi, I tried to update again this morning. This time all my devices were present and it even added one I didn’t ask for, so I reverted to the backup.

Here are the updates logs: https://paste.yunohost.org/raw/iqehagipum

Thank you.

What sort of device was it?

It was the Yunohost install. Before the update I had two devices, a phone and a laptop. After the update I had three devices, the phone, the laptop and Yunohost itself…

I finally did a new fresh install of Syncthing. Thank you for your work.

I have the same issue
The last sync was 10 days ago.
I think i was have trouble with the next sync when i repair that issue.

Well,
I recover syncthing 2.0.9 from a borg archive.
10 days without syncthing … i have some conflict with my keepassxc secret folder, difference between my computer and my smartphone.
And the restore from the borg archive rewrite also on data… i can’t choose what i want to restore, app, data or both…

Now, can i update syncthing to 2.0.10~ynh2 without the same issue ?

Pierre

Well, i have try the last update 2.0.9 → 2.0.10-ynh2.
My ID change again…

So i way the next update.
