Still can't log in to Element X (synapse_ynh)

Describe your issue

I’m trying to log in to my Synapse account using Element X. I enter https://[synapse subdomain].[my domain].[tld], then tap on [synapse subdomain].[my domain].[tld] when it comes up in the app.

Element X goes back to the login screen with matrix.org changed to my homeserver address, but when I click “Continue” after a few seconds it comes up with an error (below).

Any ideas? Is there any further info I could provide?

The error message in Element X is:
“We couldn’t reach this homeserver. Please check that you have entered the homeserver URL correctly. If the homeserver URL is correct, contact your homeserver administrator for further help.”

There’s a lot more information on this git page regarding the status of element X support but for now you’ll need to use the regular element client or any other client which supports v1 matrix.

Fwiw, I use Element on mobile and Cinny on my desktop.

Yes I confirm that if you want to use elementX the recommended way is to use the matrix_v2 branch (which is maintained in side of testing). If you still have some issue with this branch please report it as in this case it’s a bug.
