Some questions about IPv4/IPv6

:uk:/:us:

My YunoHost server

Hardware: Old laptop or computer at home
YunoHost version: 11.2.3
I have access to my server : Through SSH | through the webadmin | direct access via keyboard / screen | …
Are you in a special context or did you perform some particular tweaking on your YunoHost instance ? : no
If yes, please explain:

Description of my issue

I’m Belgian and I’ve recently changed home. I took this opportunity to change my ISP which was not helping self-hosting (Pr*ximus).
I’m now on EDPnet which is far better: I’ve my port 25 opened (waouh!). I will try to add this ISP to the doc soon.

I’ve a dynamic IPv4 and a static IPv6.

My ISP says that they cannot change my reverse DNS for IPv4 because it’s dynamic and when the IP will change I would not be able to connect anymore.

But for IPv6 there are currently no reverse DNS. My ISP propose to set the IPv6 address of my server as reverse DNS: is this good or is it better to set my main domain (as I think was suggested by the diagnosis but it doesn’t complain anymore although the’re still no reverese DNS according to ipv6-test.com)?

As a side way: I see there is a Yunohost setting to disable sending mails with IPv6. Could there be a setting to disable IPv4 mails or is it not recommended? As far as I understand, the major mails providers support IPv6?

Thanks for your help :innocent:
