[SOLVED] Email works. Aliases don't. "Relay not permitted"?

I can send and receive email just fine with my Yunohost install on a VPS. The trouble is that email sent to an alias, doesn’t seem to come through. Most of the time there’s no visible error, although a couple of times when I sent a mail from a temp Proton account, an email has bounced back with the following error:

[root@mydomain.tld](root@mydomain.tld)>:
host [mx1.hostsdomain.tld](http://mx1.hostsdomain.tld)[IP address] said:

550 relay not permitted (in reply to RCPT TO command)

I’ve changed my domain names. As far as I’m aware, I’m not using an email relay service.

You should check your MX record. Dis the diagnosis says something about it ?

dig +short MX domain.tld

I suspect you have several MX configured and not just the yunohost instance.

Ahh… I think I found the problem. The domain that the aliases all use is still pointed to my old host and not to Yunohost. I’ll test and report back.

Yep. That was the issue. facepalm Thanks @ljf , your post got me thinking about which domain I should dig into which made me realize I hadn’t changed the DNS on the alias one yet.
