Request for tests and feedback on new version of borg_ynh (automatic backups with Borg) before release

I am planning to release a new version of this app by the end of this week.

This version will include many changes, among which various fixes, security improvements and migration to packaging format v2.1.

It should also significantly improve backup performances. Note that your first backup may take a longer time than usual, but the next ones will take at most the same time or significantly be faster if you have plenty apps to backup.

To give it a try:

yunohost app upgrade borg -u https://github.com/YunoHost-Apps/borg_ynh/tree/testing

And report issues in Github.

Thanks, it sounds great !
I have just upgraded and will report any issue if found.
(I’m using a setup slightly different from what’s the “standard” borg_ynh → borgserver_ynh tough, as I push my borg_ynh backups to my synology)

I’ve upgraded one of my installs and it seems to do its job just fine, so thank you for a seamless upgrade!

It’s been mostly a community work, especially regarding the migration to the version 2.1 of the helpers (Eric G has maintained the branch with patience).

It turns out I had to use an archive to urgently backup my VPS today… and it worked flawlessly

@Limezy @orhtej2 @Kayou I suggest you to upgrade your borg instances, I have just pushed new changes (various cleanups and minor fixes related for the config panel) :

I just upgraded (it says 1.4.1~ynh5) and run a new backup on my server.
Everything went smooth !
