Replacement for Hastebin (a new pastebin may be needed)

Since …

  1. Toptal acquired HasteBin in 2022 and moved development to its own fork
  2. and in January 2025 archived its own fork

… it seems we either need to find a maintained fork of it, or a different default pastebin server for YunoHost.

From a quick look at forked repositories on GitHub, the following strikes me as the best candidate. It is a continuation of the Haste bin as we know it, before the Toptal acquisition and it seems as the most active fork too:

I spoke too soon, this one has not had an update in 4 years either.
Although the same person’s fork of the haste-client received an update two months ago, so maybe it’s still alive.

Then there is also this fork that adds ANSI support, but that has not had any update for a year:

and Armbian’s fork of it, which has been updated since:

P.S. Just my luck too, since I just braved up to install it earlier today. :person_facepalming:

PrivateBin works great in Yunohost. Available from the App catalog.

Thanks. I kind of prefer the look of Haste, but good to see a viable solution already packaged.

I’m specifically picking on Haste (and forks), because that is also what’s on https://paste.yunohost.org - so ťhat will need to be tackled sooner or later too.
