for some odd reason, the network is dead so i converted the VM to vdi file in a desperate attempt to get vbox guest addition installed and to mount the folders that way yet this also failed, vdfuse also failed, any suggestions?
Without any error log, it will be difficult to help you…

You have no screen access (like VNC) to this VM ?
Please give more info (like the software used to create the vm, etc.
i was getting desperate, sry for the spam, i had no idea why, how and what, was the problem, the other 3 VM on the host dint have a problem all running ok
how i get the backup files: i took the vdi file placed on a windows host, shared folder worked and i got the backup archives
