Is prose server agnostic? I mean, can I use prose as a client with any XMPP provider/server? Or do I need a prose account to be able to use it?

I’ve tried logging in with my movim account but i get an error.

I think so. To be honest, I haven’t tested it yet… you should be able to connect to different servers. Please test and report

I installed your package on my test server, and when I try to log in with my movim account I get a message that reads:

Cannot authenticate
strophe.js connector returned an invalid error code.

Should I install a XMPP server first?
