PiHole directing own domain to 127.0.0.1

If I ping my domain name from the VPS that yunohost+pihole is running on, it tries to reach the external IP of the server.

It might be worth mentioning that this might be an intended feature, as mentioned here:

As you’re going to use your own dns, when you will try to connect to your server, your dns won’t return you your public address like any dns server. It will return you the local address of your server, so it will not needed anymore to deal with your hosts file to use your own server !
No more hairpinning problems !
