Noob needs help with OSError: [Errno 30] Read-only file system: '/var/log/yunohost/yunohost-cli.log'

Hardware: Old laptop w/ Yuohost running on a VM
YunoHost version: can’t tell right now but pretty recent
I have access to my server : Through SSH. I can login to web admin but can’t do anything because I keep getting Error 500 Internal Server Error
Are you in a special context or did you perform some particular tweaking on your YunoHost instance ? : no

Hello, I’m a relative noob (used SSH for the first time today).

My Yuhohost is having a problem which has brought down nextcloud (Internal Server Error). Through SSH, I got the attached log, indicating the problem is OSError: [Errno 30] Read-only file system: ‘/var/log/yunohost/yunohost-cli.log’

Can anyone help me solve this problem and restore function?

Welcome! I missed you on the chatroom, so I will copy my answer from there:

Read-only file system: '/var/log/yunohost/yunohost-cli.log'
No need to go further for the time being. Your system crashed and locked itself in read-only mode.

Try these maybe: “Read-only File System” Error and Solutions – LinuxTect

For the yunohost versions: sudo yunohost -v

Rebooting helped with the read-only file system issue - thanks for the link. I went to update yunohost and got some errors, followed the path and learned my boot is almost full, only 255MB. I installed parted, but got some errors back, now need a little coaching to have the courage to resize the partition if that’s what I need to do.

I deleted an app (onlyoffice) and my boot /dev/vda1 went from 94% to 48% full. Doesn’t seem like that should be stored there… maybe something else happened when I deleted it. Anyway I was able to update yunohost. Next it wants me to do a migration and I’m scared to do so… Any advice? I suspect I’ll need to fix that boot size to prevent future issues…

After running for a half day my yunohost went down again, back to read-only problem, here’s the diagnostic hastebin

Does anyone have any suggestions for a better fix?
