still looking around for an alternative…

what i need is a db with a web frontend and a mobile client to insert new rows.

  • latest nocodb doesnt work with the mobile client
  • migration from old to new nocodb → csv im/export with multi fields works with weird workarounds

mathesar might work on a mobile with the web forms, some frameless browser app… not ideal

  • not sure how to deal with comma seperate string columns that are meant to be multi select / single select data types
  • fine with relational tables but i dont see a migration plan

currently looking at the community version of teable GitHub - teableio/teable: ✨ AI Spreadsheet for Business · GitHub

  • looks ident to nocodb design wise + a couple of features unlocked compared to nocodb
  • active development and imports multi fields fine
  • so there is a community version gpl3 and/or mit but that similarity to nocodb is weird…
  • still need to test, but wouldnt surpise me if the mobile client works

I have tried NocoBase years ago. I didn’t really spend a lot of time with it. You can give it a try, you can install it locally on your pc and see if it fits your needs

thanks, yes. i decided to go with nocobase. managed to replace all of the stuff i am using atm in nocodb + allot of additional functionality. i amanaged for some odd reason to install it on my ynh headless machine aparantly switching nodejs default from 18 to 22. but didnt write down how i did it. ^^ saw the app is in the wishlist, but do hope someone can pkg this app.

besides its the only spreadsheet noco app that i saw that doesnt hide opensource software behind a gigantic paywall.
