Nftables vs iptables

My YunoHost server

Hardware: VPS bought online
YunoHost version: 4.0.8.3 (stable).
I have access to my server : Through SSH | through the webadmin …

Description of my issue

Hi there, Bonjour,

it’s debian 10.7 and I’m using iptables pretty much.
But is there any chance to switch to nftables (not installed!) that will work seemlessly with the yunohost firewall (cli)?
Thanks, Merci bien.

If you’re on buster you’re already using nftables … “iptables” is supposed to be an alias to nftable. The “previous” iptables is when you’re using “iptables-legacy” … What are you really trying to achieve …

Hi Aleks,
thank you!

APT is telling me, that there is no nftables. I could install it, but what will happen then?
I’m workin’ on a fresh yunohost installation, and it seems there is iptables-legacy only.

There is /etc/nftables.conf
but any changes will be ignored.
