Mastodon: serious problems with php

This is a MAJOR post, as this is the only way to figure out why mastodon has not been updated or patched since version 11?

The situation is that the Home Screen (non logged in screen) is present, so is the login screen.. BUT

After that there is blank space! As in the screen is BLANK! Only the title bar (tab name) exists. I can get into admin with the /admin extension and set up the Home Screen non logged in.. but I can’t post nor SEE my posts from other mastodon accounts.

I have tried apt clean then update the software using apt update and apt upgrade. Then into the admin page and updated the software and apps.. same problem!

So my question is that is there have not been a PHP upgrade or an update for a while.. or is the mastodon app on yunohost dead? And do I need to seek a mastodon flavour from the app catalog?

Oh yes I even cleaned my caches and NOT have the cache turned on with the OS. First thing I did!

I’m not sure if I understand right. Mastodon is not a PHP application. The latest YunoHost packaged version 4.5.1 was released 3 days ago.

If you’re talking about the mobile app, there is no Mastodon Yunohost app for mobile.

But you can go to the site of Mastodon, there is a whole range of mobile applications:

  1. What’s your Mastodon version (as displayed in WebAdmin->Applications).
  2. What’s the breakage point? Did it ever work as intended? Do you recall when it stopped working?
  3. Did you do any modifications to the app? Is it original install? Did you update it recently? Was it restored from backup at any point?
  4. In webadmin, under tools->services, is the Mastodon service up and running? Is the log showing any errors?
  5. Under SSH, if you can inspect logs under /var/nginx/mastodon.domain.whatever-error.log, are there any errors? What about -access.log, are your connection attempts showing there?
  6. If you can inspect network tab in your browser’s developer tools - are the requests coming through? Where do they end up?

maybe this VIDEO csn help you.. this has been reported NUMEROUS times to others.. PLEASE FIX IT!! plus can we have elastic search enabled too?
