Hi everyone,
I’m quite new to the world of self-hosting, so i hope the information and case I’ll be sharing will be helpful to come with a solution for anyone in my case.
My YunoHost server
VM running on a Synology NAS (hopping to install in a spare computer if i make it work )
No Internet Cube with VPN.
(NAS+Yunohost) behind a pfSense firewall, the firewall itself is behind a french ISP model+router (FREEBOX).
My local network subnet (from pfsense) is different that the one from the ISP.
YunoHost 11.1.6.2 (stable).
I have access to my Yunohost through webadmin in my browser (Firefox):
https://XXX.XXX.XXX.109/yunohost/admin/#/tools/webadmin
No specific changes applied to the server, just update all package + installed 1 app (æneria) for testing.
Description of my issue
I would like to host YunoHost locally for the moment, so i need local access to the SSO+applications.
I’m aware of the hairpinning limitation .So I added DNS override in my pfsense based on the link below:
But i wasn’t able to get access to the SSO or the app.
DNS Error message in my broswer: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED.
I tried a similar self-hosting solution called SYNCLOUD and had the same DNS issue at the start but the DNS override i put on pfsense fixed the issue and i’m now able to access the different apps of SYNCLOUD.
How i’m applying the DNS overrides in pfsense:
DNS Resover => add host overrides
Syncloud:
Domain : mydomain.syncloud.it => IP Address: XXX.XXX.XXX.108
- additional names:
Hostname:nextcloud => Domain:mydomain.syncloud.it
YunoHost:
Domain : mydomain.nohost.me => IP Address: XXX.XXX.XXX.109
- additional names:
Hostname:SSO => Domain:mydomain.nohost.me
Let me know if you would need further detaisl or explanations.
Thank you in advance for your help.
