Immich Android TV app can't connect to local domain

What type of hardware are you using: Raspberry Pi 3, 4+
What YunoHost version are you running: 12.0.16
What app is this about: Immich

Describe your issue

Hello!
I have Immich successfully installed on a local domain (http://fotos.local). Only the Immich app uses this domain.

Now I can use Immich on this local domain with the web frontend and with the regular Android app. But I cannot connect with the app for Android TV (Google TV). It does not work http://fotos.local or http://fotos.local/api or http://fotos.local:2283 or the same URLs with https or the server IP address with port :2283.

Has someone managed to connect the Android TV Immich app with a local domain installation?

Merci!
Fabian

Did you try GitHub - giejay/Immich-Android-TV: An Android TV app for the self hosted photos and videos backup solution.

Yes, that is the app I would like to use. But I cannot get it to connect: “cannot resolve host: fotos.local”

Hello @McGnomus

It might be related to the Android version of the app — see here, in the Local Domains tab.

caution

Unfortunately, Android devices before version 12 (released in 2021) do not seem to be listening to mDNS protocol. To be able to reach .local domains on your Android devices, you will have to add in their DNS settings your YunoHost server’s local IP address.

Oh! This is interesting. But supposedly the “Chromecast with Google TV” has Android 14 now. I think it is regarding the IP address nevertheless - will have to do some more digging.
Thank you!
