How to transfer from one server to a new server

What type of hardware are you using: VPS bought online
What YunoHost version are you running: YunoHost 12.1.23 (stable).
How are you able to access your server: SSH
Are you in a special context or did you perform specific tweaking on your YunoHost instance ?: I don’t understand the question

I had a yunohost server with few appliction (version YunoHost 11.3.0.2 (stable) and would like to migrate it to a new server Yunohost 12

Is there an easy way to migrate it ?

  • I already read documentation. It seems easy theoriticaly but in practice is it really usable. Did someone do that?

  • Save the APP (export)

  • Export the app ?
    How about the DNS ? The domaine What is already linked to the old server?
    I am looking for a step to step procedure that works

My solution would be to save the database and migrate it manually.

Share relevant logs or error messages

why do I need to put log always just for simple discussion ? I have no isssue yet

You can try this Mount /home/yunohost.backup on a remote server - #6 by jarod5001

Edit:

  1. Install debian on the new server
  2. Mount backup folder on the new serverb(following the link above)
  3. Make a full backup
  4. Shutdown the old server
  5. Install yunohost on the new server but don’t run the post install
  6. Restore from cli (list backups yunohost backup list , then restore the one you have yunohost backup restore your_backup_name )
  7. Visit your new server ip address
  8. Check domains for recommendations (if you have autodns then run it)
  9. Check everything is ok

Thank you I could move few applications but one app return me an error

where is the full log that I can show here ?

I am not able to copy past or share a link of the log

In the webadmin go to tools > logs. Click on the log you want to share. On the top, you’ll find a green button that will create a link on a new page. Share that link
