Describe your issue
My server’s IPv6 gets dynamic prefix from the ISP that changes everytime the router switches off and on. I’ve finally set up dynamic dns so the records are automatically updated of this change. But the router firewall has been harder to deal with. I have to add multiple firewall rules for each port, each time updating the IP to the current public IPv6.
Is there no way to make it so I only have to add the “suffix” or the link local address so it won’t need an update each time? I’m afraid I’ll lose access to the server if the prefix changes while I’m outside the house because I won’t be able to reach the router. I tried the fe80:: format but diagnosis says ports are still not reachable by IPv6.
Secondly, someone needs to update the port forwarding page to give instructions for IPv6 separately. The IPv6 not reachable error takes you to the port forwarding instructions which do not at all mention IPv6 and what to do for that case.
I have an ISP provided TP-Link Archer C5 for reference.
