Hi All,

I would like to make use of the yunohost groups in wordpress - eg

  • yunohost administrator → wordpress administrator
  • yunohost editor → wordpress editor
  • …

How can this be achieved ? I figured it could be done via either the wordpress AuthLDAP or HTTP Authentication plugins, but so far, I’ve not got these to work.

Indeed, I’ve yet to figure out how to create a new administration in yunohosts and use that to login into an existing wordpress instance (it seems administrators need to be created in wordpress itself).

Thanks!

Ah, I think I’ve figured this one out. The settings in the wordpress plugin AuthLDAP should be something like -

  • Enable Authentication via LDAP?: YES
  • Do not authenticate existing WordPress-Users: NO
  • Save entered passwords in the WordPress user table?: YES
  • LDAP URI: ldap://localhost/ou=users,dc=yunohost,dc=org
  • Filter: (&(objectclass=posixAccount)(|(uid=%1$s)(mail=%1$s))(permission=cn=wordpress.main,ou=permission,dc=yunohost,dc=org))
  • Name-Attribute: givenName
  • Second Name Attribute: sn
  • User-ID Attribute: uid
  • Mail Attribute: mail
  • Default Role: Subscriber
  • LDAP Groups override role of existing users?: YES
  • Group-Base: ou=groups,dc=yunohost,dc=org
  • Group-Attribute: cn
  • Administrator: admins
  • Editor: editors
  • …

Then yunohost groups are mapped to wordpress.

I wonder why this isn’t the default ?

Maybe we should improve the package to add this kind of yunohost permission, like that it could be possible to attach any yunohost groups to this permission:

wordpress.superadmin
wordpress.admin
wordpress.editor
wordpress.author
wordpress.contributor

I create a ticket for that: Create Yunohost permissions binded to wordpress roles · Issue #286 · YunoHost-Apps/wordpress_ynh · GitHub
