GoToSocial api is not reacting anymore after a apparently successful update from the latest 0.17.x to the new 0.18 version
Update was succesful according to the GUI messages and logs. No errors visible.
GoToSocial service is running.
Any ideas?

It’s totally normal
As stated by the message showed at the beginning of the update (and that you had to accept):
This release contains several database migrations which will run the first time you start up this new version.
Be sure not to interrupt this migration process. This will take anywhere between a few seconds and an hour or even longer (on slower hardware / big databases). Please be patient!
For your information, for the package maintainer instance it took a litte more than an hour to complete.
So just be patient please

I launched the update again at 13:00 and will be patient until the evening. Two hours have passed already 
Unfortunately, if you have previously interrupted the migration process, you may have corrupted your database, so you should restore a backup then restart the upgrade
Yes, i did wait ~ 2h yesterday and restored the pre-update backup.
Today it worked, 2.5h was the needed time of the silent internal upgrade, means yes, i was to quick to restore yesterday

The info to be patient isn’t new, but like I’ve written: I still did not expect it to take that long, as it didn’t take longer than 30min in the past.
What I’ve learned: I’ll do future updates of GTS over night
