Description of my issue

Hello there,

it’s a while that upgrading leaves behind the gcc package, which is kept back at version 8.3.0-6+rpi1 against actual version 8.4.0-7+rpi1

Version check:

 gcc-8-base (from 8.3.0-6+rpi1 to 8.4.0-7+rpi1)

Upgrade feedbak

2022-11-16 10:13:53,225: INFO - + The following packages have been kept back:
2022-11-16 10:13:53,239: INFO - + gcc-8-base

I was wondering if this is correct or if the holding back it is maybe some leftover from some previous installation/upgrade attempt.

Shall I remove the package from apt hold and have it upgraded or is it ok to have it kept back?

Further info, currently installed apps:

  • Lufi
  • MiniDLNA
  • Nexctcloud
  • Shell in a Box

Thanks in advance,
e.
