Describe your issue
Hey everyone,
I’m here to share my id10t brain error moment when I decided to install Froxlor alongside Yunohost. Long story short: it was a total disaster. Here’s what happened:
1. After installing Froxlor, every config file on my system was altered, causing my websites and web apps to crash.
2. Fortunately, I had some backup files, which I used to restore the most critical configurations. Running config regeneration commands helped bring most of my websites and apps back online.
3. Froxlor has since been fully removed, but I’m left with one persistent issue.
The Current Problem:
Despite Froxlor being gone and most of the services restored, I’m still getting a WordPress error claiming that the MySQL extension is missing:
Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.
Please check that the mysqli PHP extension is installed and enabled.
But here’s the kicker: the MySQL and PHP extensions are installed. I even ran a reinstall command for php*-mysqli to make sure everything was in place, but WordPress keeps nagging about it.
What I’ve Tried So Far:
• Removed Froxlor entirely.
• Restored config files from backups.
• Ran yunohost tools regen-conf to regenerate configs.
• Reinstalled PHP and MySQL extensions (php*-mysqli).
The Ask:
Has anyone else experienced something like this after removing Froxlor or dealing with Yunohost + WordPress PHP extension conflicts? Any ideas on what I might be missing or what else I could try to resolve this?
Thanks for any suggestions or advice. And if you’re considering running Froxlor alongside Yunohost… don’t. Seriously, don’t.
Best regards,
