Hardware: VMWare Workstation 17 YunoHost version: 11.2.12 I have access to my server : through the webadmin | direct access via keyboard / screen | … Are you in a special context or did you perform some particular tweaking on your YunoHost instance ? : no If your request is related to an app, specify its name and version: Friendica, version 2023.12
Description of my issue
I’m trying to log in via the Android Mastodon client but it doesn’t find my instance of Friendica, same with AndStatus. I intend to run a community server and the ldapauth plugin seems to work fine.
How can I give access to my Friendica instance to other LDAP users on Android or Iphone ?
You try to access your workstation VMWare from your phone, is your vmware workstation correctly configured to be accessible outside your computer running it?
Where does it run ? I’m guessing home ?
is your home router configured to open all the ports needed to the WAN ? And do you transfer them correctly to your server ?
Do you use a legitimate domain name ? maybe from ynh.fr ? self-signed ?
Your smartphone connects on the same LAN? Through 4G ?
Last but not least : not accessing your application does not mean it is not federating
My VM has a dedicated NIC and my firewall has NAT rules and opened ports accordingly. The test tool from Yunohost shows everything including the self-signed certificate is in order. I know I’m more of a Windows Server admin (20+ years) but I understand basic networking and a little about sudo on Debian. You can check for yourself that the website friendica.ratko.ynh.fr is accessible from outside my “home”.
What I need is a way to access my instance of Friendica with a mobile based client (Android or Iphone) like Fedilab or Mastodon. Also my directory shows no local contacts although they are in configured in SSO (for example they can access Login – Nextcloud). Seems the yunohost implementation of friendica requires some setting up I don’t know of
