Je pense que d’autre que moi sont intéressé par se libérer du joug des GAFAM autrement que par les services offert par yunohost, sinon la démarche d’autohebergement ne serait pas entré dans vos quotidiens.
Du côté des mobiles, il existe plusieurs manières de se débarrasser de google sur les téléphones Android avec les ROM alternatives, mais il y en a une qui retient mon attention ces derniers temps : /e/ e.foundation
Pour faire une brève présentation pour ceux qui aurait une flémingite aiguë, /e/ est une ROM alternative, initialement forké de Lineage OS (ancienement Cyanogenmod) par un certain Gaël DUVAL (contributeur principal à l’époque de mandrake / mandriva il me semble)
Le principe est non seulement de proposer un OS basé sur Android sans google, facile à installer/ utiliser (ça vous rappelle quelque chose cette philosophie ?), même pour des néophytes, mais aussi un écosystème associé ; c’est à dire, en premier lieu de l’hébergement de service (mail et synchronisation de photo et contact à première vue), basé sur nexcloud. Mais aussi de la vente de téléphones reconditionnés, la fourniture d’un appstore permettant de faire la transition de manière plus douce entre un smartphone ayant le playstore et un avec seulement f-droid. (présence de whastapp et waze pour ne citer qu’eux).
Où est-ce que je veux en venir ? Et bien au vu des domaines d’intérêt convergeant entre ce projet principalement basé sur le mobile (sachant qu’il veulent à terme fournir une image docker pour héberger les services /e/ soit même) et yunohost basé sur les services autohebergés, je me demandais s’il n’y avait pas un moyen simple de rendre compatibles au plus bas niveau les deux. Alors à première vue ce serait plutôt un effort à faire de leur côté (via la possibilité de se connecter à une instance yunohost au lieu d’un compte /e/ au moment de la configuration du terminal mobile) mais ça peut aussi se traduire par une uniformisation des comptes.
Je pense que l’initiative /e/ couplée à yunohost est une vraie alternative concrète aux GAFAM et un rapprochement entre les deux projets pourrait être profitable en termes de diffusion et qualité pour les utilisateurs finaux.

I’m sure that there are people out there who think about being free of the big corporation in other aspects than just the services offered by Yunohost. In the smartphone’s world, there are several alternatives for android based devices with alternative ROM and there one which catch my attention lately : /e/ e.foundation

/e/ is an OS based on lineage OS (and before that CyanogenMod). Its main goal is not only to provide an easy to set up, easy to use (isn’t that philosophy familiar ?) OS, but also to provide an ecosystem. The /e/ foundation are also a service provider of, at least mail, contact and photo synchronization. They are also providing an App Store to make the transition from a Google playstore own device to a Google-free device easier (So you’ll still be able to download waze, spotify and whatapp for example, which is a big plus for neophytes).
So why am I presenting that ? Well as their services are based on nexcloud and they want to also provide a self-hosting possibility based on a docker installation, and seeing that the interrest between /e/ and yunohost a similar, I was wondering if there is a way to make the two projects compatible. I think that the effort is mainly on their side as an /e/ device would have to offer the possibility to connect to a Yunohost instance instead of the /e/ account, but it could lead to a unification of how accounts are managed.
I really think that /e/ and yunohost together could make a great alternative to GAFAM service, and a collaboration between the two communities could be positive for everybody, especially final users.
