A very similar question has already been asked here.
I want to install an app that needs to be able to send emails (like wordpress, mastodon or whatever) on a custom domain, but use Tuta as a mail service for that domain.
I have one yunohost server right now (Hetzner server, 12.0.6 (stable), no customizations so far) and installed redirect on one url, where I use Tuta as a mail provider. There are obviously no issues here, because redirect doesn’t need to send me mails anyway.
But does this e.g. also work with Mastodon (doesn’t have to be my current YunoHost server)? If users register on my Mastodon server, they need to receive activation emails and YunoHost sends them from the same domain Mastodon is installed on.
Can I configure YunoHost to use my Tuta domain/service or is it maybe possible to use the main domain of the YunoHost server to send mails also for apps installed on different domains?
My preferred way would be if it was possible to use Tuta for all domains, including the main domain, but that is not necessary.
I’m not quite sure what you mean. The link just talks about using native client apps. Yes, I use tuta for Android and for “Linux” if that’s what you mean.
Oh okay, so that means that YunoHost and tuta would have to collaborate to find a way, right? I don’t have any money to finance that, but once tuta release their documentation this might be something YunoHost could be interested in too, right?
But would using one domain for all outgoing mails by the apps on the same YunoHost server be an option? E.g. if the main domain of the server is mymail.tld and I install Mastodon on mymasto.tld, could Mastodon users receive the activation and other emails via mastodon@mymail.td?
for the tuta part, this is the main issue is here, please take a loke at at what free & none-free tuta offer.
resolve the first issue is required, cant ever go here, IMHO before first issue resolved, i think/hope other people here can gave some nice guidance about mastodon can or cant do.
