Description of my issue
When I try to add my SearXNG instance as a search engine to Firefox, I get an error message:
Firefox could not download the search engine from: https://searx.my-domain.com/searxng/opensearch.xml?method=POST&autocomplete=
This happens when I call up the address https://searx.my-domain.com in Firefox, then select the URL, right-click and click on “Add SearXNG” in the context menu at the bottom.
If I call up the URL https://searx.my-domain.com/searxng/opensearch.xml?method=POST&autocomplete= directly, the file “opensearch.xml” is displayed.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this problem? That would be great!
I think it used to be necessary to be able to add it to Firefox (but maybe it was fixed, mine is set to be public)
(I just tested your url on my server, and I can download it without being logged-in (and if you are logged in, the way Firefox download it is not logged in))
Yes, searxng is set to public. I can use it without logged in to my yunohost account. I can download the xml-file manually without any problem. But firefox cant it.
Yep, I think it’s Firefox! I tested it on another computer, which still has Firefox version 122.0 - and adding searXNG works there! Here on my actual computer I have Firefox version 123.0 and this error message appears. Is there anything I can do?
