Email template to ISP

Hello,

I would like to add my internet service provider to this page. I intend to send them an email asking to provide me the information but I don’t know how to formulate the questions (because I don’t really understand the underlying technical aspects). Is there an email template that I could use? If not, could someone help me to write one? It would be useful for others to reuse.

Hi,

there’s no template available for this, but basically it’s just about asking :

  • does the internet box supports UPnP
  • are there any restrictions related to port 25 (and if so, can they be disabled)
  • does the box supports hairpinning
  • can the reverse DNS be configured
  • does the box have a fixed IP address
