Since YunoHost’s slogan is related to gardening, I thought my post and query could fit here

Brinjel is an excellent open source software (FLOSS) for planning and monitoring market gardening crops (scheduling, rotations, seeds, harvests, etc.). And in agriculture, we’re more often dealing with industrial lobbies than with free software

Having trained in organic market gardening, I had the opportunity to discover it and I find it fantastic. Even for everyone, it’s very practical and useful for a small vegetable garden. I still use it personally today.

It used to be available as a standalone installation, but now it’s a self-hosted solution, or as a SaaS solution with a paid subscription.

I was wondering if it would be possible to add it as an app on YunoHost? That would be great and much easier to offer to my farming friends. I just submitted a request to add it to the Wish List : YunoHost app store | Application Wishlist

And is it complicated to adapt? I’m a coding newbie, but if I can help in any way, I’d be happy to.

Brinjel est un excellent logiciel libre (FLOSS) de planification et de suivi des cultures en maraîchage (planification, rotations, semences, récoltes…). Et dans l’agriculture on a plus souvent affaire à des lobbies industriels qu’à du libre

Ayant suivi une formation en maraîchage biologique, j’ai eu l’occasion de le découvrir et je le trouve formidable, même pour tout un chacun et pour un petit potager il s’avère très pratique et utile. Je l’utilise encore personnellement aujourd’hui.

Autrefois il était utilisable en installation autonome mais à présent il s’agit d’une solution auto-hébergée, ou en tant que SaaS par abonnement payant.

Je me demandais si ce serait possible de l’ajouter en tant qu’application sur YunoHost ? Ce serait super et ce serait beaucoup plus simple à proposer à mes ami-es agriculteur-ices. Je viens de soumettre une demande pour l’ajouter à la Liste des souhaits : YunoHost app store | Application Wishlist

Et est-ce que c’est compliqué à adapter ? Je suis un newbie en code mais si je peux aider d’une manière ou d’une autre je le ferais volontier.

Yes, Brinjel is fully free/libre and open source web app and you can self-host it. However, some configuration might be needed, and we haven’t found the time yet to ease the process. We plan to release an easy to install, self-hosted version during the year 2025.

Mais quand on a un serveur YunoHost c’est bien aussi d’avoir toutes ses applis au même endroit

Oui bien sûr ! Ce que je voulais dire c’est qu’actuellement il semble qu’il faille bidouiller un peu pour rendre l’application auto-hébergeable, ce qu’on pourrait éviter en patientant un peu
