"Descriptive" setting for user portal does not show apps descriptions

What type of hardware are you using: VPS bought online
What YunoHost version are you running: 12.1.36
How are you able to access your server: The webadmin
Are you in a special context or did you perform specific tweaking on your YunoHost instance ?: Nope, used automated install from Scaleway Dedibox, just installed Nextcloud & Navidrome, that’s it =)

Describe your issue

Hey everyone,

I have a pretty simple problem, but I’m scratching my head over it :

I configured my main domain to use the “descriptive” setting for apps panels.
But unfortunately, only the logo and name of the apps are showing up in the SSO Portal =/

I did not edit any config file (or well, I tried to tinker a bit, but with no results, so I’ve restored the config files I edited), and am almost exclusively using the webadmin for now.

For more context : I installed Yunohost with the automated install process of Scaleway Dedibox, and am using my own domain to connect to the SSO Portal.

Hope these information will be enough… Thanks!

The forum won’t let me post links, but the only things I have is this when setting “Descriptive” theme for the portal :

2025-12-02 16:06:28,358: INFO - Saving the new configuration…
2025-12-02 16:06:28,366: SUCCESS - Config updated as expected

And this when changing Navidrome description :

2025-12-02 16:08:17,005: DEBUG - Formating result in ‘export’ mode
2025-12-02 16:08:17,008: DEBUG - La configuration de SSOwat a été regénérée
2025-12-02 16:08:17,008: SUCCESS - Permission ‘navidrome.main’ mise à jour
2025-12-02 16:08:17,010: SUCCESS - Config updated as expected

Well, I’ve just switched to descriptive for my domain and it worked immediately. So, you may have made some manual changes you didn’t revert.

Check yunohost tools regen-conf –dry-run –with-diff if anything is still not reverted. Use --force instead of the two other options to force config regeneration

Thanks for the reply =)

I tried the command, which completed successfully, but unfortuately, the tiles are still empty.
Interestingly enough, new apps I install by leaving the description by default shows up the default description text

Check the apps in the webadmin, you will find the section “Tiles and permissions” where you can add a description. You probably have a space in the description that overrides the default one

Hi,

There’s an issue open on github :

Ah, thanks =)

Is there any workaround, can I edit any file manually, perhaps?

I don’t know, i use the descriptive setting and it’s the same for me.
