Configuring additional records for nohost.me domains

What type of hardware are you using: Old laptop or computer
What YunoHost version are you running: 12.0.12
How are you able to access your server: SSH
Are you in a special context or did you perform specific tweaking on your YunoHost instance ?: not yet

Describe your issue

I am trying to set up an smtp relay on a nohost.me domain for sending mail per port 25 block by my ISP. My relay provider requires I add a TXT record to the DNS to verify use of the domain on their end.

Per configuration docs here, I have attempted to access the config file with yunohost domain dns-conf your.domain.tld but receive a “command not recognized” error for dns-conf. Having looked through some older posts on this issue I am assuming that the command has been deprecated from an older version. Other posts on this issue seems to refer circularly to each other with no actual solution for accessing nohost.me DNS files.

I am comfortable editing the DNS table myself, I just need to know the command to access it. I’m not a super duper coder dude, but can follow clear and basic instructions.

Thanks

Not at my workstation so don’t have access to logs. Will share upon request.

Have answered my own question. It is not possible to a user modify public DNS records for nohost.me domains. nohost.me is owned and managed by yunohost.org.

Suggestions/thoughts:

  1. Make this clear in the set-up process and documentation.
  2. Revise documentation to reflect commands in current yunohost version.
  3. Set up a request thread for adding DNS records to specific subdomains, similar to how users request domain retrieval. (Some potential security issues make this idea unlikely)
  4. Add a feature in the user interface that manages this securely.
