this is so f**king hard to explain…circular arguments…
Ok - I put mastodon on a subdomain and pointed the tld at it.
I installed peertube on the {tld} and, when I attempt to make it the default app (Domains tab) in the select box, I get this:
“Unable to make peertube the default app on the domain; {tld} is already in use by peertube”
Hmmm I think you can try to set the default app to “---” (“None” … the first option). Since peertube is installed at the root of the domain there’s no need to define it as the default app since / will already direct to it
I could only “fix” it by completely uninstalling the new app (which I installed on the main domain b/c you’re not allowed to not specify a blank domain during installation), creating a sub-domain for the new app, re-installing the new app to the sub-domain, and then re-directing the tld to the new subdomain.
It should not be this difficult, is all I’m saying, to change a target for a domain.
