Describe your issue
I went through the Synape (Matrix Server) setup and did the steps to set my admin user:
/opt/yunohost/matrix-synapse/set_admin_user.sh ‘@user_to_be_admin:domain.tld’
Using by my yunohost user for SSO (@james:tjserver.dev) and also tried for the matrix-specific domain (@james:matrix.tjserver.dev) and got this result each time:
WARNING: database “synapse” has no actual collation version, but a version was recorded

I also went to the Main Settings page for Synapse (Matrix Chat) in YH and used the Set this user as Admin button for my main YH user.
But when I try to connect via Synapse-Admin, i tried with both of those accounts and when I enter my synapse server url, it enables the Sign In with SSO button which takes me to a Matrix screen to confirm the login, but when I click Continue it immediately logs me back out and says M_FORBIDDEN (403) You are not a server admin.
Not sure what I’m missing.
