About different spinners (transcat, magikarp etc.)

I was surprised when I firstly see the transcat spinner and thought server was hacked (as like some others)

And today there is a fish instead of nor transcat or default pacman

I was worried again and looked for yunohost-admin repo for some info. I want to share some of them if anyone also worry about what is going on

There is a few different spinners listed in source code And these lines defines the dates for each special day/easter egg. (and this file includes more info about how is them loaded)

So there shouldn’t be anything to be worried :confetti_ball:

But I have one question! How this commit included in my admin panel even if I didn’t update my server for a month? Is there any automatic update for admin panel? Isn’t it a security problem? (or am I absent-minded to forget that I was updated server?)

There is no automatic update, unless you have unattended-upgrades installed (there is an app for that). So i’d say you upgraded your server but forgot about it.

Also, Magikarp as an April 1st spinner is 5 years old today !

I like the little surprises a lot, and for me they give the platform some personality. Some of them really make me laugh!
