[PiHole] Anything that could break my system?

I’ve not included any specifics about my system or version since it’s just a general question.

I’m considering installing the PiHole app on yunohost but I’m afraid it will cause issues with my existing services, specifically things like RESERVED IP ADDRESS. My router does include an internal DHCP server but if I direct it to PiHole will this break existing connections and port forwarding?

On my side, I use pihole without the build-in DHCP server, my router do it and is configured to give the server IP as DNS.
I did not enable the port forwarding for port 53 because I tried and within days I had connections from the Internet (damned bots)
