Description of my issue

Happy New Year to you all.

I wonder if I can get some Nextcloud help?

When I log in as admin I can see all of the users, and all of the users can log in without problems.

However, if you look at the attached screenshot, as admin, I can no longer change the passwords of the users. If I click in the password area no field opens up. Clicking the pencil does not show anything to “change the password”

I have checked on a non YNH Nextcloud install and the admin can change the password. The field exists.

Can anyone help me get to the bottom of this? I have no idea where to start with this.

Kind regards and best wishes

Dj

That’s because in the context of Yunohost, Nextcloud users are Yunohost users. Hence Nextcloud “uses” the users defined in the LDAP database, but it has no way of changing their password.

If you wish to change the password of your users, you should be using Yunohost’s webadmin to do so in Users > …theuser… > Edit > fill the password field with the new password

@Aleks That was quick thank you so much…

Yes I think I get it now… Sorry… I have just created a new user inside Nextcloud (see screengrab) and the password field is now available only for the user created in inside Nextcloud

So I’ve got it thanks. Use YNH admin to change passwords… Sorry. To much to drink last night!

Thanks again
