# N8N new installation broken?

**What app is this about, and its version** : N8N v2.31.6~ynh1
**What YunoHost version are you running** : 12.1.40.1
**What type of hardware are you using** : VPS bought online
### Describe your issue
Although its test level seems 8, new installation always fails. I tried installing it 4 times and the attempts failed for all. I put the full installation log below.

What does return
```auto
ls -la /home/yunohost.app/n8n/.n8n/config
```

I think you can remove the `/home/yunohost.app/n8n` folder if you did not use the n8n app before or `chown -R n8n:n8n /home/yunohost.app/n8n`

Oh man, excuseme. I can’t believe I missed that detail that was spotted at this line:
```auto
2026-07-30 07:55:28,383: WARNING - Jul 30 07:55:25 n8n[20097]: Error: EACCES: permission denied, open '/home/yunohost.app/n8n/.n8n/config'
```
I was convinced that yunohost scripts take care of the ownership setting of the directories. But it turns out that the scripts do not always take care of it.
Anyways, I deleted the `/home/yunohost.app/n8n` directory before the install, as you have suggested. Then the installation was successful. Thank you.
