# Lost password for doman first admin

**What type of hardware are you using** : VPS bought online  
**What YunoHost version are you running** : I do not know  
**How are you able to access your server** : The webadmin  
**Are you in a special context or did you perform specific tweaking on your YunoHost instance ?** : I don’t think so

### Describe your issue

I just signed up for my VPS on Hetzner today, installed YunoHost today, attached my domain (rachelthorn net), but when I created my first user for the domain, I forgot to make a note of the password. It was a strrong random password, and I have no way of recalling it, so I cannot log in on my console. Is there some way to reset the first user password?

### Share relevant logs or error messages

My console at Hetzner is dominated by a terminal window at the top, and a GUI band with additional information about my server setup at the bottom.  
The terminal window reads as follows:

YUNOHOST  
Local IP: (my IP)  
Local SSL CA X509 fingerprint: (long fingerprint)  
SSH fingerprints: (three long fingerprints)

Hello @RachelT

Can you still log as root?  
If so, you can try

```auto
yunohost user update your_admin_username --change-password

```
