Describe your issue
I have a few domains on my server, but most of them are subdomains of the same main domain.
e.g.:
domain1 – blog
domain2 – nothing here
sub1.domain2 – YNH landing page
sub2.domain2 – app1
sub3.domain2 – app2
sub4.domain2 – app3
…
subN. domain2 – appN
domain3 – some redirect
I just noticed that since Yunohost 12 when adding a new domain there is an option to instead add it as a sub-domain to the main one instead. I imagine this would simplify my life quite a bit, so I am wondering what is a good migration path from the old domain handling system to the new one, without losing or breaking anything on my existing blog, apps etc.
make users can understand that they can define subdomain for their ynh.fr domain…
Technically, the migration to yunohost 12 should have organize every domains / subdomains like it should. You can edit some options if you want about the new portal.
This did not happen to me. Perhaps because I have not added the second-level domain.
What’s tedious currently for me is the DNS and certificate management, because for every app I need to push the DNS and re-create the certificate separately. I imagine that with the new approach, there could be just one certificate for all sub-domains together and less work with the DNS too.

Aaah, OK, I figured it out. All I needed was to add my main 2nd level domain and YunoHost organised its 3rd level subdomains under it.
