Help: .local domains suddenly stopped working

What type of hardware are you using: Old laptop or computer
What YunoHost version are you running: 12.0.11 (stable)
How are you able to access your server: The webadmin
Are you in a special context or did you perform specific tweaking on your YunoHost instance ?: installed tailscale a while back, that did not change anything though

Describe your issue

Hi there!

Yesterday I played around with my Yunohost server. I use .local domains for most of my stuff, because I only need one service to go to the outside. Anything else I was able to access via wireguard to my router and also through tailscale, which I installed outside of Yunohost (Which did no cause any troubles when I did it).
Then today none of the .local domains I have function anymore. I have tried setting up ZeroTier, but it does not seem to work. Somewhere between yesterday and me installing paperless.ngx on a .local domain and uploading stuff to it, to today when those domains are not available in my browser on three devices (Win, Mac, iOS) anymore something went upside down.

I tried some stuff with ZeroTier and dnsmasq that I found in the forum, but it did not help me. What am I missing?

Thanks so much! I love this little server I have and would love to keep using it

Hi,

Do you succeed to access your server with the local IP?
If no, it’s not a mdns issue, but simply that your server is not anymore available from your local network.

Check that yunomdns is running (and maybe try to restart it).

systemctl status yunomdns
systemctl start yunomdns

If the service is in fail mode, the problem seems related to yunomdns.

If it doesn’t solve your problem, it could be a firewall issue. It could be the firewall of your server OR the firewall of the client with which you make your tests. Check that UDP 5353 is open on your server.

I think it could also be the home router, sometimes home router are upgraded by your internet service provider and some configuration change.
