Dovecot permissions error

Description of my issue

So recently I had to upgrade my server and now my mail server is not working, I digged into it a little bit and realised that dovecot the IMPS server is failing because its trying to access some files but there is a permission error… How can I fix this problem?

Update:

I followed the advice here: linux - Troubles with Dovecot 2.3.3 - mkdir permission denied due to +w perm: /var, dir owned by 0:0 mode=0755) - Stack Overflow

and now my error changed but it still seems to be related to permissions
